Another addition to the Microsoft innovating technologies is the Microsoft’s compact HD webcam called the LifeCam Cinema which provides a simple solution for capturing some amazing images. It can be put on any laptop screen or the PC monitor or can also be placed on a desk, based on one’s convenience. It basically has a built-in microphone and shoots the clippings with 720p HD at 30fps, and has a good design and structure which aim at keeping the elements intact.
The basic structure of the webcam consists of an attractive and a robust body which is made of aluminum barrel which makes the webcam rugged and also portable so that the cam can be easily carried on travel. But a kind of protection cover for the glass should have also been there to protect the lens from getting damaged in the long run but this simple shortcoming of the cam can be ignored because a notable feature of the cam which is the movable stand made of rubber provides a good grip and works efficiently with any display. The top of the LifeCam holds a button for the purpose of taking pictures and also the digital microphone. The image quality is reasonably good as smaller images of 640×360 pixel resolution can also be taken very effectively, and the high resolution images which the Microsoft calls as 5x HD images are also taken with ease.
The LifeCam software can be easily installed on Windows 7 without requiring one to insert the CD. The biggest advantage with Microsoft LifeCam’s software is that it comes free of cost and simply plays amazingly with Windows Live Movie Maker. But to get the high definition video recording, the efficient power is required but as mentioned earlier the smaller images taken by LifeCam with pixel resolution 640×360 can be still recorded here, along with the high resolution still images.
